SIGBI Safe Spaces Certification Verification Process
SIGBI partnered with LGBTQIA+ people all over the country, including those who are hyper-marginalized and often live in environments that are not affirming. This partnership resulted in the development of nine (9) Safe Space criteria that reflect the needs of people facing daily challenges because of who they are.
To begin the certification the Safe Spaces certification process, please designate one representative from your organization to complete and submit the verification form.
SIGBI is here to guide you through the certification process. We are a team, and we are invested in your successful certification.
As you work through the process, you will find explanations of the actions and/or information required. For criteria that do not include uploading official documents, please provide as much detail as possible.
After we approve completion of each criterion, you will receive official notice, be included in SIGBI’s list of certified Safe Spaces, and gain access to creative assets (like the Safe Spaces logo) for marketing and PR use.

This verification form addresses seven (7) of the nine (9) criteria.
Criterion 1: Training and
Criterion 9: Re-Certification are handled outside of this verification process.
